Spectrum

Chris Sadler

After making music for over 25 years, this is Chris Sadler's debut album. Just as the name suggests, the album contains a wide spectrum of both musical styles and moods. From upbeat, positive indie dance to darker, menacing drum & bass. Rather than being merely a selection of cub tracks, each song tells a story, a musical interpretation of significant moments of his life, of his experiences and feelings. As the lyrics of the intro explain, this album is a window left open at midnight. The tracks are fragments of doubt, of wonder, of nights spent asking questions no one else could hear. This album is a glimpse into the author's soul.
Borrowed Glitter

Borrowed Glitter

Chris Sadler

Just as Chris Sadler's album contains a wide spectrum of musical styles and moods, so does its singles. Following on from the deep house of "Language Without Words" and the indie dance of "Happy Face", The third and final single "Borrowed Glitter" is dark, slightly menacing drum & bass focusing on the untold stories of those on a dancefloor. While they are often collectively referred to as the crowd, each person that makes up that mass of people is an individual, living their own lives, playing the lead role in their own personal stories which are essentially disparate and yet have come to together to share a common experience as an integral part in a jigsaw puzzle of personalities that become one whole. At least until the lights come on.
Happy Face

Happy Face

Chris Sadler

Happy Face is the second single from Chris Sadler's album Spectrum. The song is very much a melancholic introspective, about how Chris sometimes feels the expectation of others to be the happy, smiling, life of the party even when there can be sadness, fears or concerns. This situation was never more felt than when Chris honoured a DJ booking just hours after finding out his brother had died. This is a song about how people are often made to feel they have to wear a happy face even when suffering.
Language Without Words (Elli's Song)

Language Without Words (Elli's Song)

Chris Sadler

$1.69 Language Without Words (Elli's Song) is the first single from Chris Sadler's upcoming album Spectrum. As with all the tracks from the album, Language Without Words is a very personal look into Chris' soul, in this case into his relationship with his son Elliott. Following Elliott's birth Chris found himself in a situation that he wasn't prepared for and didn't know how to deal with leaving him doubting himself in his new role as a father. As Elliott grew and began developing his own personality Chris not only started embracing this role but fell desperately and unconditionally in love with his son, determined to be there for his formative moments and vowing to stand beside him through thick and thin. This song is about that journey.
